Texas Hunting. World class Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Exotics, Wild Hog, and Javelina. Turkey, Dove, Quail, and Waterfowl. Texas offers the best in hunting for whitetail deer, exotics, wild hogs, and Javelina. However, a lot of people don't know that Texas also has one of the largest Mule deer populations in North America. The population of Mule deer in Texas varies, but can be as high as 250,000 in a good year. Maybe not world class, but many fine Mule deer are roaming Texas. We have a tremendous number of quality hunts in our database and finding a ranch that offers you the hunt you want is just a part of the type of work T.O.O. provides for our customers. We find the great hunts and take care of all your needs for your outdoor trip in Texas. Contact us at (210)215-3877 or email us at too@outdoorstexas.com to get in on these fantastic deals.
There are several reasons to allow T.O.O. to work for you to book your next Texas hunting trip. 1. We do all the calling and emailing, so you don't have to wait for returned calls and emails. Let us do that time consuming job and you can relax and take care of your job and family. This is our business, to spend the time organizing your hunting trip. 2. We are located in San Antonio, Texas and we know the ranches, we know their track record, their land, and the animals they have historically taken and as such we can eliminate wasted phone calls and emails. 3. We are working for you, not the ranch or outfitter, and that means your satisfaction is our only concern, not the ranches and outfitters. We are there to help take care of the problems and answer the questions and to cut-off any potential concerns that might arise regarding your hunt. 4. We are leverage for you in case you have a problem with an outfitter or ranch. We have the means to pursue legal or law enforcement actions against a ranch/outfitter if the need was to happen. We have had to do this once in our 6 years as a hunting and fishing business, but with business law in Texas having more power than an individual in the courts, that leverage is good to have if needed. One way to avoid potential problems is to use the one business in Texas that works 100% for the hunter and fisherman; Texas Outdoor Organizers. We only work for you! T.O.O. charges 10% of the base cost of the hunt we find for you, that is well below most charge for organizing a trip. We offer discounts on our fees for large groups, military, multiple hunts, and retired hunters.
Remember T.O.O. works for you, not the ranch or outfitter, to find your ideal hunt.
We feel booking a hunt should be an enjoyable experience and we start from "scratch" with each hunt when we are contacted. These hunts below are opportunities that we have found to be a good hunt for a fair price. These hunting operations have offered a discount through T.O.O. However T.O.O. is not expected to book theses hunts, they are only there to show hunters the great hunts we locate for sportsmen.

So give us a call about these smaller hunting operations that offer great hunting in a small, personalized setup or let us find your hunt on the better known, established hunting ranch or outfitter in Texas. Either way, we'll get it done for you. The best time to put together a deer hunt in Texas is from January through May for the following season. By that time, hunting operations have made price adjustments (reality; mostly raise prices), get harvest forecasts, and have a fairly good idea of the animals to be taken for that season. Waiting until the fall to look for hunt limits the hunter, due to booked dates, and other factors that limit hunting operations.
Whitetail Deer: Texas has world class whitetail hunting, most people know that. However Texas offers many day, package, and management hunts for whitetail at a lower cost. Prices can run from $100 a day for a day doe hunt to as high as you can want to spend. Texas has it all in whitetail hunting. From pull up to the gate and good luck, to the most luxurious accommodations available. We can cater to whatever you feel is the type of hunting you want. From blind hunting, to rattling, stalking or just high rack hunting there is a type of hunting you want.
Mule Deer: Texas has two areas that have Mule Deer populations. One is in the Trans-Pecos/Big Bend area. This area has the largest number of Mule Deer, however their body size and horns are on average not as big as the second area. That area is the Panhandle of Texas. The Mule Deer numbers there are smaller, however the weights and antler scores are on average higher than in the Trans-Pecos region. Most hunting in the Trans-Pecos region is done "Spot and Stalk" or driving and spotting. The Panhandle region offers more of the blind hunting, where you stake out an area and look for the deer to come to agricultural fields, or migrating from the creek beds and river bottoms. Either area can give you a Mule Deer hunt that is less expensive than a hunt in the traditional states out west. Prices can be as low as $1,500 for a 2 day Mule deer hunt, and as expensive as $4,000 and higher for a package hunt.
Exotics: There are a great number of exotic animals in Texas and hunts can take place at any time of the year in Texas. All that's needed is a hunting license. Axis, Fallow, Blackbuck, Sika, Elk, various rams, wild sheep, and many other species, all wild and different than the native game in Texas. T.O.O. DOES NOT BOOK "CANNED" HUNTS! If that is a concern of yours, please understand all exotic hunts that book through T.O.O. are fair game hunts. A large number of ranches have high fenced their land, most do so to control the habitat and condition of the herds of animals. If you want a low fence operation, we can find that, it is up to you. However a 1,000 acre or more pasture under high fence will offer you a chance at hunting an animal, not a canned hunt. Please contact T.O.O. if this option concerns you. Prices run from about $250 for a management hunt to fill your freezer with delicious venison, to $3,000 and higher for the truly exotic animals.
Wild Hogs: A non-native animal first brought over with the Spanish a long time ago, hogs are the most misunderstood animal in Texas. Not only are they hunted year round, they are excellent eating. They can be as challenging as any mature buck and can offer a little excitement as well. Texas has a huge population of hogs and the cost of the hunts is very reasonable. Most ranches want their numbers reduced and offer hunts for as little as $100. However most hunts will run from $200 to $400 for a weekend type deal. An awesome way to do some off-season hunting and to fill your freezer as well.
Javelina: These unique animals native only to the Americas offer an exciting hunt. Stalking is wonderful way to hunt these animals, and the coat on the Javelina is truly unique. Most hunts are in line with a Hog hunt and often can be combined with a hog hunt. There are different seasons in different counties, with South Texas generally not having a closed season. Most Javelina are found in South Texas, the Hill Country, and West Texas. The season limit for Javelina is two per year. Prices vary with the amount of service provided for the hunt, but $200 to $400 a day is common.
Turkey: There are two species of turkey that are common to Texas. The Eastern and the Rio Grande. Eastern Turkey's are located in East Texas and are considered to be a "harder" bird to hunt. The Rio Grande is the most wild spread turkey in Texas. It's habitat is the western 2/3 of Texas. It is not uncommon to see 20-50 birds or more in a group in some areas of the Texas. The Rio Grande can also be hunted during Deer season in most counties that have turkeys. There is also a Spring Turkey season for many counties. Many ranches have a turkey/exotic hunt combo for the spring. Prices can run from $200 for a hunt, up to $1000 or more for a complete package hunt with lodging and meals.
Quail: Texas has the best Bobwhite Quail hunting in the world! Most ranches that offer quail hunting manage their land for quail. Due to the decline in quail numbers in other traditional areas of the Southern U.S., Texas has become a hot spot for quail. Accordingly the cost reflects that trend. A good package hunt can run from $400 for a two day hunt, to over $2,000 for a complete multi-day package with lodging and meals. Most Texas quail hunting is done with dogs, a truly wonderful sight to experience.
Dove: There are two species of dove commonly hunted in Texas. The Mourning Dove and the Whitewing Dove. Both are plentiful, with the Mourning Dove located mostly in North, Central, And South Texas. The Whitewing Dove is a success story. A number of years ago the Whitewing were only hunted in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. The season was very short, only a couple of weeks. A series of freezes in the L.R.G.V. in the last 10 years or so dispersed the Whitewings causing a concern that the population would disperse and Texas would lose the Whitewing for a long time. To the surprise of many the Whitewing made it's way to urban areas a lot farther north than its traditional grounds. Today all along the IH 35 corridor, there are tremendous populations of Whitewings, with over a million Whitewings in the San Antonio area alone. Hunters book hunts within a mile of the city limits, and see thousands of birds on the evening hunts! This is common within other cities along IH 35. Truly some of the best wing shooting in the U.S.A. Prices for both Mourning and Whitewing Doves start $50 a gun per day, and can be as high $500 and more for a three day package with lodging and food. A tremendous number of options are available for dove hunting.
Waterfowl: Texas offers some unbelievable waterfowl hunting. Snow Geese, Speckled Belly, and to a smaller extent Canada Geese are numerous in the winter moths. The hunting is an awesome sight when thousands of geese leave in the morning and head to your decoys. Prices can run from about $150 day and up for a fully outfitted hunt. Duck hunting in Texas follows the migration from the north. Coastal duck hunting is a sight to behold with many species of ducks wintering on our Texas Bays. Many outfitters offer a "Cast and Blast", where you hunt ducks in the morning and fish for reds and trout in the bays in the afternoon. Many outfitters transport you to the blind via airboat, an unbelievable experience. Duck hunts start at around $150 for a duck hunt, with "C & B" combos starting at around $350 per person per day. There is a smaller amount of freshwater duck hunting, cost are comparable for coastal duck hunting.
